The distance between Sun and Earth is R. The duration of year if the distance between Sun and Earth becomes 3R will be :
Solution
<p>We know that</p>
<p>T2 $\propto$ R3</p>
<p>$$ \Rightarrow {\left( {{{T'} \over T}} \right)^2} = {\left( {{{3R} \over R}} \right)^3}$$</p>
<p>$\Rightarrow {{T'} \over T} = 3\sqrt 3$</p>
<p>$\Rightarrow T' = 3\sqrt 3$ years</p>
