From the top of a 60 m high building, the angle of depression of a point on the ground is 30°. The distance of the point from the base of the building is:
Solution
Angle of depression = angle of elevation from ground = 30°. tan 30° = 60/d → d = 60/tan 30° = 60/(1/√3) = 60√3 m.
