Easy INTEGER +4 / -1 PYQ · JEE Mains 2021

An average person needs about 10000 kJ energy per day. The amount of glucose (molar mass = 180.0 g mol$-$1) needed to meet this energy requirement is ____________ g.

(Use : $\Delta$CH(glucose) = $-$2700 kJ mol$-$1)

Answer (integer) 667

Solution

1 mole glucose give 2700 kJ energy, <br/><br/>so mole of glucose needed for 10<sup>4</sup> kJ energy<br/><br/>= ${{10000} \over {2700}} = 3.703$ moles<br/><br/>Weight of glucose = 3.703 $\times$ 180 g/moles<br/><br/>= 666.666<br/><br/>$\approx$ 667 g<br/><br/>Hence, amount of glucose required is 667 g.
